Through this series of photographic images the magick and alchemical power of this ancient site is evoked.
'My first visit to Avebury was many years ago as a teenager, I have aways been drawn to these sites that seem to vibrate with a hidden energy, perhaps I’m hoping to harness some of it. It laid its foundations in the fertile earth of my subconscious, and there it grew like a life form.
These megalithic sites represent something profound , in some ways they are like the birth of art and magick, they represent human beings wanting to express something existential , something ineffable and greater than the mere finite earth. They are a conduit between the landscape and the imagination, a portal. I want to allow the place to talk to my imagination and to allow it to spread its seedlings, to see the stones through the eyes of a dreamer.
It felt like the completion of a natural cycle to make a body of work that was inspired and fuelled by this place. The photographs and music was the result of this place speaking to me in some ancient language that only I could understand. I allowed myself to become a translator of sorts, to transcribe what this place wanted to say.
The result is not a historic or archealogical investigation, rather a manifestation of the ‘dream child’ it birthed inside my soul' - Oliver Ho
